at gulf bike week - february 11-12, 2011

Rolling Stone Middle East's first Battle of the Bands competition will take place on February 11 and 12 at Dubai's Gulf Bike Week from 3-7pm. The 10 short-listed bands will perform over two nights on a dedicated stage, with a panel of judges scoring them on everything from songwriting ability to stage presence. Judges will include Adam Grundey, editor of Rolling Stone Middle East, Geordiebird from Dubai 92, host of Dubai Eye's Open Mic show Zahra Soar, Triplew.me editor Paul Kelly and DJ Bliss. The winning band will receive prizes that will enable them to take their musical career to the next level. Battle of the Bands will be the first in a series of such events, aimed at showcasing bands from across the region.
