Fez doesn’t bother with preamble. “This is you,” the lo-fi graphics announce, pointing to your cute, 8-bit character. “Collect these cube fragments or else bad stuff will happen,” is your only instruction before you’re left to your own devices. Rendered in 2D, but with shifting 3D environments, Fez is an intriguing, unforgiving and hard platformer. Not for the easily irritated.
