Cairokee Team up With Souad Massi for First Single From New Album
"Agmal Ma Andy" features legendary Algerian vocalist
Egyptian indie outfit Cairokee released their third album, Sekka Shemal, this month. The lead single, "Agmal Ma Andy," features the renowned Algerian singer-songwriter Souad Massi.
The song – a simple ballad, driven by an accordion hook – was selected as the first single, bassist Adam El Alfy told Rolling Stone, because of its positive message. "We need something positive in Egypt now," El Alfy said. "We want to be, like, a breath of fresh air."
